POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans and directs the environmental program within Global Operations. It provides leadership, expertise, support, direction, and assistance in all environmental matters. Ensures that all Operations facilities are in compliance with all applicable laws and conform to the corporate environmental requirements. Identify and achieve clearly defined environmental goals that will establish the Este Lauder Companies as a leader of the cosmetic industry in their concern for the environment.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Develops and implements the policies, procedures and systems relating to the environmental compliance program.

2. Ensures that Operations is in compliance with all government agencies ordinance and regulations.

3. Provides technical guidance and leadership for the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 14000 program at Operating facilities.

4. Communicates with senior management regarding the policies and procedures for ensuring environmental standards.

5. Maintains expert knowledge of all existing and proposed changes in federal, State and local environmental regulations.

6. Responsible for interpreting data, observations and current regulations.

7. Assesses environmental risk and develops required regulatory documentation.

8. Conducts facility audits, performs site inspections, and recommends appropriate action to senior management in compliance with regulations and company policy.

9. Reviews planned expansion, modification, acquisition or closure of facilities, which affect environmental discharges, emissions, and hazardous materials.

10. Provides leadership and direction to management, professional and technical personnel of the organization unit. (Direct supervision of corporate environmental team plus coordination with approximately 20 field staff)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Working knowledge of US and international environmental regulations

2. Experience in development of corporate sustainability and pollution prevention programs

3. BS or MS in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science

4. 7-10 years experience

5. Professional certification desired (PE, CHMM, QEP) 6. Working knowledge of personal computer applications

7. Excellent communications skills

8. Position requires 20% travel
