Mohonk Preserve is New York State's largest member & visitor supported nature preserve.
The Preserve is a dynamic organization with responsibility for managing and protecting nearly 7,00 acres of the northern Shawangunk Mountains in Ulster County, NY. The Preserve has four integrated programs -- Research, Education, Land Stewardship, and Land Protection, and is a regional model for large-scale conservation planning which guards the integrity of our natural surroundings while providing for public recreation and education.
We have an annual budget of $2.3 million, 30 year-round staff and over 350 volunteers. We also have a diverse support base of more than 12,000 individual members and supporters and a five-year Strategic Plan with goals for fiscal growth. Our Visitor Center is an award-winning green design building surrounded by nature trails and is a great work environment!
Position Overview:
Collaborative manager w/ minimum 5 years experience in Environmental Research field studies, operation of biological field station or similar natural area Research program. Will oversee Research department including creating, developing scientific research and resource management programs/strategies.
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience in department and personnel management, budgeting, data gathering, analysis, syntehsis and interpretation, environmental monitoring. Excellent computer/database/GIS skills required. Master's Degree in Natural Sciences, Natural Resources or related disciplines.
