Michael Willis Architects is a growing 20 year old design firm with offices in San Francisco, Oakland and Portland. We have a history of designing award-winning architecture for public agencies, housing clients, municipalities, and transportation agencies. We focus on creating sustainable architecture and interior design that has a positive social impact and adheres to our high standard of design and client service.

Position Overview:

The firm has recently secured several high-profile commissions and is seeking an Interior Designer for our Oakland Interior Architecture Studio with a minimum of three years of experience in large scale commercial, civic and institutional interior architecture projects.

This job be in our Oakland location, in "Old Oakland", where a farmers' market operates just outside the door on Friday mornings.

Responsibilities:

  • Interiors project assistance during initial programming,
  • Space planning and design phases;
  • Participation in development of construction documents and FFE specifications;
  • Assist with contract administration.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant project experience
  • Working knowledge of design, detailing and production requirements of commercial interiors architecture
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively
  • Good organization skills
  • Professional degree in Interior Architecture or Architecture from an accredited university
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp and MS Office Suite - Revit experience is desirable
  • LEED Accreditation or working toward it
