Inspired by a sense of place for 80 years, Rogue Creamery draws from the beauty and flavors of Southern Oregon’s Rogue River Valley to create eight handcrafted blue cheese recipes, cheddar cheese and TouVelle.

Over the last half century, Rogue Creamery blue cheeses have received international acclaim. The certified sustainable whole milk we use to make these original blues comes from Rogue Creamery’s exclusive dairies along the banks of the rugged and scenic Rogue River.

Position Overview

Rogue Creamery, an artisan cheese company with people dedicated to service, sustainability and the art and tradition of making the world's finest handmade cheese, is seeking a Dairy Farm Manager to supervise, coordinate and conduct the daily operations of an organic dairy farm and herd, employees and facilities to ensure its continued success and profitability. The dairy is located on the renowned Rogue River outside of Grants Pass in beautiful southern Oregon.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be responsible for and must have a solid record of professional dairy-related accomplishments that include the following:

• Previous experience managing a dairy & herd
• Familiarity with organic dairy and farming practices
• Training in herd health and breeding/reproduction
• Knowledgeable in disease and injury treatment and calf pulling
• Knowledgeable in dairy nutrition and feeding
• Comfortable with general office work, recordkeeping and procurement
• Ability to motivate and supervise employees and build a team
• Ability to communicate and work with a broad spectrum of individuals
• A self-starter with the ability to prioritize, resolve problems and multi-task
• Knowledge of robotic milking procedures & technology preferred
• Knowledge with effectively maintaining and using Dairy Herd Improvement Records

Additional Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must possess the right combination of education, training and experience to step in and effectively manage dairy operations
• Must have good organizational skills and exhibit a high level of attention to detail
• Familiarity with automated milking systems & software is a plus, as is bilingual in English/Spanish
