Global Solar Center is the premier destination for solar and related energy and efficiency services. We serve both residential and commercial customers by providing free quotes detailing solar costs and incentives, and a marketplace for them to connect with quality installers.
Additionally, Global Solar Center analyzes and certifies alternative energy installers and suppliers, providing a "Good Housekeeping" seal of approval in a fragmented market with thousands of suppliers of variable quality.
Position Overview:
Global Solar Center is seeking candidates for a solar power customer service position. Candidates will be trained in various solar technologies and will be responsible for walking customers through the world of solar energy.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, creative and flexible. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and experience or familiarity with sales or customer service. Experience with solar power is a plus, but is not necessary. Most importantly, the candidate must be passionate about green energy and sustainable growth.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have a BA from a top tier University.
- Entrepreneurial, creative, flexible; able to work both independently and in teams.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential to success in this position.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; collegial; energetic; able to communicate complex concepts to customers in simple terms.
Additional Requirements:
This position will require around 30 hours a week of work with the possibility of increasing the hours with experience. Candidates must be able to come in to work every day at our midtown office.
Compensation: In addition to an in-depth understanding of solar power, the successful candidate will earn an hourly rate as well as commission from all successful sales. The average residential solar installation is about $45,000, so there is considerable opportunity in this position.
