Oorja Protonics is the leader in liquid powered fuel cell products that produce clean and efficient power. The company has large customers like Nissan and Super Store Industries, which have found Oorja's products result in fast payback and easy integration. The company is venture backed and generating revenue.

Position Overview:

A rapidly growing clean energy firm seeks an experienced controller with a manufacturing and cost accounting background. The controller will be responsible for all financial planning and analysis and management of the cost accounting function. This role will be instrumental in providing strategic direction for the company and will report directly to the firms CEO/CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial information is presented to management at month-end
  • Prepare annual budget and monthly forecasts
  • Study manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure effective costing systems and procedures and effective utilization of the system
  • Provide reporting of operations to senior management with analysis of manufacturing cost variances, operating and shipping expenses, and transactional key metrics
  • Oversee all cost accounting duties in all aspects of inventory costing, ensuring accurate recording of costs and analysis of variances
  • Analyze key metrics with senior management to provide decision support and drive operational effectiveness
  • Execute projects as necessary under the direction of senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Business preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in finance/accounting roles within fixed asset manufacturing environment
  • Solid accounting and finance foundation. Cost accounting knowledge - i.e. Inventory, COGS, manufacturing variance analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to express quantitative results clearly, concisely and effectively; ability to summarize and effectively explain complex information
  • Leadership skills and experience working effectively with senior management and across the organization
  • Spreadsheet and financial modeling proficiency required
  • CPA is a must
