Position Overview: 

SCS is seeking contract auditors to join our Environmental Certification Services Team. This is a contract position and we are looking for auditors in the mid-west and southern US. Environmental Certification Services (ECS) encompasses a variety of SCS programs, including Recycled Content, Indoor Air Quality, Multi-attribute certifications, biodegradability, and California Air Resources Board ATCM for formaldehyde reduction in wood based panel products. Contract auditors make vital contributions to these programs by conducting high quality audits at a level equivalent to fulltime SCS staff.

Responsibilities:

• The majority of contract auditing work is conducted onsite at SCS client's facilities.
• Qualified contract auditors engage in the full range of auditing, including onsite, desk audits, and report writing.

Qualifications:

• Minimum B.S. or B.A. degree in a quantitative field, with a strong preference for Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Industrial Ecology. 
• Complete fluency in English and experience that involves professional written communication.
• Superlative organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize numerous tasks effectively. 
• An abiding interest in sustainability, green building, materials use, indoor air quality, and related environmental issues.
• Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment.
• Must be willing to take regular assignments involving extensive travel.

Compensation: Day rate based on qualifications to perform audits for specific programs
