Position Overview:
We have an opening for a Consulting Engineer in either our Seattle, Washington, or Lowell, Massachusetts, office.
Position involves conducting site screening, site assessments, identifying viable wind development areas and resource monitoring locations, preparing preliminary and detailed feasibility studies, and preparing life-cycle engineering economic analysis.
Responsibilities:
The following tasks will be required as part of managing specific projects: preparing technical content for RFPs related to turbine and contractor procurement; conveying knowledge of existing wind energy technology and market conditions to various government officials; preparing proposals; providing timely client communication; executing project scope items; anticipating project issues and developing appropriate resolutions; and monitoring project cost and schedule.
Qualifications:
B.S. in engineering (mechanical or electrical) and at least 4 years of experience in the wind energy industry is required.
Consulting experience is considered a plus. The ability to write clear and accurate reports is essential.
The successful candidate must have a sound engineering background and the ability to communicate technical concepts accurately in language appropriate for the client's background.
Since evaluating sites for potential wind energy development and client meetings are integral to this position, the ability to travel once or twice a month is expected. International travel is also possible.
Technical curiosity and the demonstrated ability to provide analysis and recommendations supported by sound business economics are required.
