Position Overview

WSP USA has an immediate opening for a Consultant to support the company’s growing Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change offering.

The Consultant will support a client–facing team in the design, implementation, and management of organizational sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, self-motivated and self-directed, collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.

Responsibilities

  • Developing entity-wide and product life cycle inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resources
  • Conducting verifications of entity-wide inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resources
  • Developing and maintaining data management systems and business intelligence tools
  • Designing sustainability performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement plans 
  • Identifying and evaluating opportunities to achieve energy, GHG, and resource reductions
  • Analyzing energy efficiency and renewable energy purchase options
  • Researching leading sustainability programs and initiatives
  • Producing sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communications
  • Supporting business development activities with existing and prospective clients

Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and use of programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with sustainability issues and frameworks such as CDP, GRI, and the GHG Protocol
  • Ability to develop and present analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms

Education and Training:

  • 0-3 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline, or experience in sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting is preferred
