Description
The Peninsula Open Space Trust ("POST") is one of the nation's most dynamic and successful local land trusts, and has successfully protected thousands of acres of open space, creating a Peninsula "greenbelt" and wildlife corridor on the Skyline Ridge, the San Francisco Bay and along the San Mateo County Coast.
We are seeking a Conservation Project Manager to implement all phases of land conservation projects, including acquisitions, conservation easements, and transfers. This position investigates and analyzes target conservation properties and identifies project opportunities; cultivates relationships and negotiates with landowners, including public agencies; prepares project documents (i.e., purchase agreements, gift deeds, conservation easements, appraisals, environmental assessments, title documents, and escrow instructions); and hires and manages consultants with a variety of expertise such as attorneys, landscape architects, environmental scientists, and surveyors.
Ideal candidates will possess:
Minimum three years of experience in land conservation techniques, real estate, and land use laws and regulations.
College degree required, graduate degree preferred.
Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse groups.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding planning and analytical skills.
Experience with project budgets and accounting.
Familiarity with local geographic area.
Knowledge of real estate transactions.
Knowledge of natural resources.
