Communications Project Manager/Consultant

Position Overview: 

RRS is seeking applications for a Project Manager/ Consultant to work with an established clientele as well as provide assistance in developing new projects within our municipal, university, sustainable packaging and corporate sustainability sectors.

The Project Manager/Consultant position is located on our Communications Team which focuses on developing, managing and executing communications and outreach campaigns; overseeing design and implementation; managing subcontractor work product and subcontractor contracts; and providing messaging and branding approaches to a wide variety of client types and projects.

Responsibilities:

• See waste as a valued resource in building sustainable systems for a waste-free future;
• Competence in taking innovative thinking and dynamic approaches to define, develop and communicate cross sector solutions for our clients and their projects/programs;
• Expertise in taking analytical/technical information and communicating it in a way that is dynamic, digestible and forward-thinking for our clientele; 
• Manage multi-dimensional and multi-directional client projects including project and work plan scoping, task management (defining, delegating and executing), and maintaining client communications within the project; 
• Develop tangible strategies for our clients with the acute ability to transform a conceptual strategy into an action orientated and implementation plan with achievable goals, objectives and tasks;
• Generate content development that is succinct, dynamic and audience appropriate for print materials, posters, social media, web-based communication tools, memos, reports, PowerPoints and other desired/forward thinking communication and outreach avenues; 
• Scope new projects with existing and potential clients including proposal scoping and budgeting;
• Execute and deliver client work scopes, work plans, project goals/milestones, and deliverables on time and on budget; and
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• Organized, self-motivated, ability to set work priorities and complete work with minimal supervision;
• Capacity to work in a high energy and dynamic team environment;
• Experience with successful campaign execution; 
• Professional experience with social media, social marketing and crafting messages that drive public participation;
• Attention to detail is essential;
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills;
• Strong verbal, public speaking interpersonal and written communications skills;
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
• Capacity to travel to client sites, conferences, and other venues;
• Technical skills using MS Office Suite (specifically MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and Windows 7; 
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred, but not necessary;
• Ability to convey project message accurately, succinctly, dynamically, effectively and efficiently to identified target audience; 
• Supervision/leadership/project management experience.
• 4-year degree in public relations, communications/mass communications, sustainable systems, natural resources, environmental sciences, environmental policy or related field;
• At least 5 years professional experience working in the communications/public relations sector is required;
• Experience in the resource management or related environmental field is preferred; and
• Previous consulting experience a plus.

Compensation: $50,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
