The Marine Stewardship Council is experiencing significant growth in the number of fisheries in the program, and in the growth and interest from the commercial and retail sectors, including supermarkets, restaurants and distributors and others.
Position Overview:
To support this growth the Communications Associate will develop marketing materials with an emphasis on consumer-facing materials. An initial suite of materials was created under the grant and a final list of materials will be developed in collaboration with the regional communications, commercial and fisheries teams and the Regional Director, Americas.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in writing materials intended for media, developing marketing materials with a professional graphic design, and broad knowledge and understanding of marketing and communications.
Responsibilities:
The Communications Associate, Americas is a new, permanent position in the MSC's Americas regional office in Seattle. It was developed out of a temporary 2011-12 grant funded position. This position will report to the Communications Director, Americas, and will help implement the MSC's marketing and communications strategy in the Americas region. The focus for this position will be developing and delivering new marketing materials, updating existing materials, and assisting the communications team in other areas as directed by the Communications Director.
Compensation: Competitive salary, dependent on experience. Participation in MSC Ltd. benefits program. Current insurance benefits (with employer-paid premiums) are: employee health and dental insurance, employee long-term disability, as well as optional participation in a Section 125 cafeteria plan and a 403(b) retirement plan. Three weeks annual vacation to start with stepped increases over time, plus 10 Federal Holidays.
Working Hours: Normal business hours are 8a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Friday, Pacific time. MSC is a global organization operating across multiple time zones and meeting the demands of the position may require occasional flexible working hours, and weekend or evening work may be required on occasion. This is an exempt, salaried position, not subject to overtime pay. Must have the right to work in the U.S.
