Communication Professional, Clean Tech Practice

APCO Worldwide, a global public affairs and strategic communication consulting firm, is seeking a mid-level communication professional for its Energy and Clean Tech practice. This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic Seattle-based team.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include managing day-to-day client project work, producing quality client deliverables, designing and executing public relations campaigns by seeking high-level placements in print and broadcast media, drafting and distributing press releases, and coordinating various issues management and public relations activities. The mid-level professional will work closely with a variety of renewable energy and clean technology businesses and organizations in sectors including wind, solar, small scale hydro, electric vehicles (EVs) and emerging tech startups; and will be instrumental in further growing the practice throughout North America and on a global scale.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations or related field, 5+ years of relevant experience, and have proven success developing new business through strong client relationships and networking in the field. The role also requires a comprehensive understanding of the new energy economy, including issues, politics and players who shape the renewable energy and clean technology industries; and a pulse on the media and trends within these industries.

Our ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to manage client relationships successfully in a fast paced environment, excellent presentation skills, and strong writing and editing skills. Prior agency experience is a plus.
