Commercial Sector Program Manager Peru CATALYST
Duties:
- The Commercial Sector Program Managers main responsibility is to manage all activities for effectively working with the commercial sector and for leveraging commercial sector support for CATALYST Family Planning (FP)/Reproductive Health (RH) activities in Peru.
- S/He will generate and follow up on new leads for partnerships and project development in coordination with CATALYST Peru and CATALYST DC in the area of Pharmaceutical Partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility.
- S/he will report to Senior Commercial Advisor in Washington, DC with supervision by the CATALYST Peru Country Representative.
- This position is based in Peru and candidates must already have authorization to work there.
- Candidates willing to relocate to Peru will be considered, but relocation expenses will not be covered.
- Salary will be based on experience and competitive within the Peruvian NGO sector.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow up on leads already identified to design, negotiate, and manage partnerships as well as identify new potential CSR and pharmaceutical partnerships.
- Work entails getting Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed and implemented to provide reproductive health services and products in the private sector.
- Develop, negotiate and manage MOUs among businesses and NGOs to provide reproductive health products, services and/or education to employees and/or community
- Oversee the private sector expansion initiative for commercially available contraceptives, including liaison between participating pharmaceutical companies and NGOs.
- Represent CATALYST at industrial, CSR, and professional events and activities
- Develop and maintain professional contacts with businesses, NGOs, and industrial and CSR associations.
- Ability to sell ideas and projects to appropriate organizations and companies by providing basic cost-benefit analyses.
- Advocate for appropriate policy changes that would positively affect the distribution on contraceptives such as brand advertising on TV and the coverage of family planning services and products by insurance companies.
- Interact with USAID when requested
- Track activities against budget.
Qualifications:
- Highly dynamic professional with business and marketing experience or strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- 7 + years of professional experience and advanced degree, such as an MBA or MA in a relevant field
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Skill and experience in making public presentations.
- Understanding of corporate social responsibility and desire to make companies more responsive to employee and community health needs.
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Previous exposure or work in health, preferably reproductive health and/or work with pharmaceutical companies
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts/agreements and manage them to a successful, timely completion.
- Experience working with or in non-governmental organizations desired as well as familiarity with USAID programming and funding procedures.
