Responsibilities:

What You Will Do:

• Support innovative weather risk management solutions by providing expert insights into the methodology and verification of data products and forecast models
• Direct The Climate Corporation''s efforts to archive, curate, and present the world's weather data to ordinary consumers and businesses
• Cultivate business relationships and research collaborations with companies, government agencies, and universities that produce weather data and forecast models
• Relentlessly evaluate and improve The Climate Corporation's forecasting methods

Your Experience and Qualities:

• Driven and talented. You want to work on creating intellectually challenging and innovative products that will meaningfully change the way millions of people manage risk.
• Proven track record of excellence
• Expert knowledge of climate processes and climate change
• Experience with robust computational pipelines and databases to handle huge environmental datasets
• Experience developing state-of-the-art weather data products and forecast models that capture mesoscale meteorological phenomena at hourly/daily timescales
• Solid understanding of weather measurement instruments, remote sensing, monitoring networks, and multi-sensor data assimilation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional mathematical and computer programming skills
• Advanced degree in climatology, geophysics, or a related field
