Overview

ecoPreserve is seeking to hire an associate to execute projects on climate resilience. Our team works with all levels of government and private industry to enhance the resilience of energy, water, and transportation systems, other critical infrastructure, and the vital societal and natural elements that make our communities whole.

Essential Functions

  • Develop plans, policies, strategies, and processes to promote equitable climate mitigation and resilience programs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the commercial and municipal sectors.
  • Prepare and present reports, briefs, and other materials on energy use, GHG emissions, innovative financing, and climate actions, including strategies, data, and policies, to stakeholders
  • Support the pursuit of grants and other funding sources, technical assistance, and new project development
  • Conduct GHG inventories
  • Conduct climate vulnerability and risk assessments
  • Serve as a key member on multi-disciplinary teams focused on sustainability, climate adaptation, and resilience projects
  • Contribute technical expertise, research, and innovation to execute work related to infrastructure resilience to climate change and extreme weather risks
  • Assist all levels of government with studies, plans, and programs designed to enhance sustainability and resiliency
  • Review existing policies or legislation to identify environmental impacts.
  • Complete tasks in a fast-paced, timely and efficient manner

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with climate change mitigation and adaptation concepts and 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Master’s degree in a field relevant to climate adaptation, and mitigation such as atmospheric science, environmental science, public policy, planning, meteorology, earth science (with a focus on physical climate science), geography, or engineering OR Bachelors Degree in relevant field with 3 years of experience
  • Strong research, data analysis, data visualization, graphic design, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze technical and quantitative information, particularly related to energy and other infrastructure, and synthesize findings for decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks in real-time in a diversity of team settings
  • A record of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Enthusiasm for learning quickly and creatively applying critical thinking to new problem areas
  • Demonstrated experience working with energy utilities on issues related to risk management, asset management, strategic and long-range planning, project finance, or regulatory issues
  • Technical and team management experience for complex projects in a consulting environment
