Green Chimneys services include an accredited special education school on two campuses; residential treatment center; nature-based therapeutic programs; community-based support for youth and families; and public education and recreation opportunities for people of all ages.
Position Overview:
The Recreation Department is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) for our Brewster Main Campus.
Resonsibilities:
- The CTRS would be responsible to plan, lead and/or assist in recreational group activities and special events,
- The CTRS will also attend treatment team meetings,
- Facilitate recreation liaison meetings,
- Complete proper documentation and assessments on residents, and
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation, Education or related field and two years experience in an acceptable recreation program required.
- Experience with children in psychiatric settings preferred.
- Experience facilitating adventure based activities such as camping hiking, high ropes, etc. is a plus.
- Must have a driver's license and clean driving record.
