Interested in living in a beautiful setting (for free!) while protecting the environment and gaining valuable skills and experience? AmeriCorps Cape Cod members partner with nonprofit organizations, governmental departments and community-based groups work to conserve, protect and restore the unique and fragile ecosystems of Cape Cod.

During an eleven month term, members reside in program-provided housing and serve together tackling a wide variety of conservation-based and disaster mitigation activities including: habitat restoration, erosion control, trail maintenance, marine mammal stranding response, emergency shelter operations, boardwalk construction, and invasive species removal. Each member also has a long term placement with a local government or non profit agency.

Qualifications:Min. 18 years old; U.S. citizen, a national, or a legal permanent resident; 2 years of college, work or volunteer experience; Ability to perform demanding physical labor; Commitment to community service and/or environmental service; Ability to work well in a team setting; Possess initiative; and, Able to provide own reliable motor-vehicle.

Compensation: Living stipend, free housing, skills training, health insurance, gear and travel allowances and an educational award of $4,725 after successful completion of the program. Cannot offer housing to spouses, dependents or pets.
