Business Development Associate

Position Overview: 

BuildingGreen is seeking a Business Development Associate to support the company’s positioning within the design and construction industries and build on relationships with the large participants in these industries. The Business Development role includes working with BuildingGreen’s major accounts through marketing initiatives and direct contact, and establishing new accounts. BuildingGreen’s major customers include many of the largest architecture firms and construction companies, as well as government agencies and universities. 

Responsibilities: 

• Interacting with marketing team to help define and generate campaigns that support both major sales and individual memberships;
• Identifying and pursuing new leads for enterprise licenses to BuildingGreen's tools and resources;
• Supporting existing customers with resources to facilitate the use of BuildingGreen's resources within their organization;
• Renewing and expanding contracts with existing accounts;
• Regular reporting to BuildingGreen management on the status of sales activities; and
• Organizing in-person and web-based meetings for BuildingGreen principals with green champions within customer firms and new leads. 

Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of marketing and positioning, have exceptional interpersonal skills, be highly organized, be familiar with building design and construction practices, knowledgeable about green building solutions, and have demonstrated effectiveness at sales, both in-person and via telephone and the internet.

Compensation: Salary for this position is $35,000-$45,000, dependent upon experience. The position will be based at BuildingGreen's Brattleboro, Vermont office.
