Position Overview

The Business Analyst is responsible for working with OneRoof Energy business stakeholders to help conceptualize and document their specific business needs. The Business Analyst will lead the efforts to define solutions and direct the team on feature/functionality that supports the business requirements.

The analyst is responsible for translating the business needs into Use Cases, Process Diagrams, Functional and Non-Functional Specs and communicate to the project stakeholders and the development group the features and functions of the system. The Business Analyst will also perform user acceptance testing on projects to assist in validating requirements.

Responsibilities 

• Lead analysis efforts of project by gathering requirements and solution design
• Analyze the creation of new software solutions and enhancements for existing software products
• Supports requirements from the idea generation stage through full implementation into production
• Interface with business users to learn the needs of the various business groups
• Create functional specification documents for proprietary software products using defined standards
• Analyze and evaluate current business processes and requirements and make recommendations to management for new and more efficient workflows and processes
• Documents use case scenarios in various functional areas
• Performs analysis of existing systems, applications, and processes to evaluate effectiveness
• Interfaces with technical representatives to understand what solutions are possible for current needs and also while implementation of the solutions are underway
• Partner with the project manager and developers on providing estimates for analysis and testing
• Identify project risks and help define mitigation strategies 

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities: 

• Ability to independently analyze, document and communicate solutions that support business requirements
• Ability to outline goals and outcomes, gather data, brainstorm on alternative solutions, evaluate pros and cons
• Highly-developed analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to interact with diverse personalities
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic environment
• User Interface and User Experience Design experience preferred.

Qualifications 

• Experience in a startup environment preferred
• Knowledge of application development and project management methodologies
• Experience with UML or other process documentation methodologies
• Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• At least 4-6 years
