Miles Community College is a small, comprehensive community college located in Miles City, Montana.
Position Overview:
Miles Community College is seeking a learning-centered, student-oriented individual to teach energy efficient building construction. A unit of solar panel installation for green energy buildings will also be added to the curriculum. Training in this area is available through the college during the summer of 2010.
This is a full-time, 9 month (163 days) teaching appointment which is renewable annually based upon satisfactory job performance.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- Effective public and interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to the role of the community college are a must, as the program is viable through community partnerships.
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in green energy, especially solar energy.
Compensation: Initial placement on the salary schedule is dependent upon academic credentials and creditable work experience and will be within the range of $26,298 - $39,472. Contract start date is August 23, 2010. Overload and summer teaching opportunities are usually available. The college provides a competitive benefits package including health insurance and retirement.
