ERO Resources Corporation, an environmental consulting firm headquartered in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a full time Biologist for its Hotchkiss, Colorado office.
Position Overview:
The position will support new and existing natural resource projects based out of our Hotchkiss office. Duties will include wetland delineation and permitting, NEPA and ESA compliance, and other environmental planning and management services. Additional duties will include but are not limited to business development, marketing, proposal preparation, and new client/market generation services. Professionalism is required as the position requires regular contact with clients, engineers, and regulators.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, natural resource planning or similar discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of wetland delineation and CWA Section 404 permitting experience. Wetland delineation experience must include identifying western U.S. (Colorado-preferred) upland and wetland plants to species. An advanced degree or training may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience, if appropriate. Experience with advanced functions of MS Word, MS Excel, ESRI, and GPS Trimble software is required.
Desired experience includes performing wetland delineations using the Corps' Arid West Region supplement, using the Corps' OHWM indicators for arid streams in the Southwest, identifying noxious weeds, NEPA documentation, and using GIS/GPS.
The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to work simultaneously on, and prioritize, multiple projects; and have the ability to work both as a member of an interdisciplinary team and independently with minimal supervision.
Physical ability to perform strenuous fieldwork - carrying a minimum of 25 lbs, hiking more than 3 miles, and working in adverse weather conditions, is a requirement. Travel throughout the western U.S. for projects is required. Candidate is responsible for providing reliable transportation for travel to and from project sites, with project-related mileage reimbursed at IRS mileage rates.
