These positions are exciting career opportunities with growth potential in sustainable design consulting. The right candidate will be offered a position immediately.
Responsibilities consist of the application, assessments, technical support, and site work, related to the specification and implementation of water efficiency, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and building automation control systems. These are usually in the context of the MEP related LEED rating system criteria as supporting projects with LEED NC, CS, and EB certification goals is the majority of the required work. While the position entails interaction with designers, it is not a design position.
This position will also interact and communicate with the client, design engineer, facility management staff as well as on-site and office technical project work. The right person will be able to compile LEED certification documentation, and perform LEED calculations, as well as execute detailed project management and progress tracking. The ideal candidate should also be knowledgeable of construction practices related to mechanical controls and plumbing systems in new and/or existing commercial and institutional buildings.
Preferable applicants should have the following:
* 3-5 years with technical project work experience in commercial and institutional buildings is required
* Experience with quantitative energy, the EnergyStar label program, and/or knowledge experience with building energy modeling process and energy analysis is required
* Direct knowledge of HVAC systems/controls, energy conservation, indoor air quality management, water resource management, and/or sustainable design
* Existing facilities, technical energy/environmental, project management experience
Qualifications
We are looking for team-oriented people who work well with minimal supervision in a small office environment. Strong professional skills and a positive, flexible attitude are essential.
A promising candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
* Background in detailed technical project work in commercial and institutional buildings is required
* Ability to read, understand, and navigate through building drawings and specifications is required
* A strong ability to manage and absorb technical details from a big picture perspective in order to contribute and communicate to a technical team in a detailed and comprehensive style
* Novice to intermediate level experience or knowledge of the LEED Green Building Rating Systems
* Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
* Excellent Excel and web skills are required
