Position Overview:
GreenOrder is seeking to hire an Associate to manage consulting engagements and deliver world-class advice to our clients. The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate education in environmental studies (science, policy, engineering), an MBA from a top-tier school, and an outstanding record of academic and professional success. Work experience at a top-tier management consulting firm is strongly preferred. We are looking for someone who exhibits the qualities of an outstanding business leader and advisor: intellectual rigor, analytical thinking, creativity, and a passion for delivering outstanding, game-changing solutions to clients.
The Associate will have daily involvement in the most stimulating intellectual and business challenges we address for our clients, extensive interaction with senior client executives, and the opportunity to contribute to the solution of some of today's most pressing global issues.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Monitoring the timely and cost-effective management of client projects (tracking deliverables, timelines, and progress against goals) and managing and coaching junior team members
- Client Relations: Managing the client relationship, understanding their business and organizational needs, communicating the recommendations and analysis of the firm in a highly nuanced, confidence-inspiring manner
- Research & Analysis: Managing and/or conducting primary and secondary research on a broad spectrum of market, stakeholder, and policy issues, and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data
- Writing: Preparing and/or editing crisp, compelling written reports and memos, marketing materials, correspondence, and other communications
- Client Solutions: Developing impactful client recommendations and delivering them through world-class written and oral presentations
- Firm Development: Playing a supporting role identifying and securing new revenue opportunities with existing and potential clients. Participating in internal initiatives relating to thought leadership, client service, or team development
Qualifications:
- Education: An MBA or dual MBA/environmental management/policy program from a top-tier school; a Bachelor's degree, preferably in environmental studies, from a top-tier school; and an outstanding record of academic and professional success
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years relevant work experience. Demonstrated success in business strategy and organizational leadership. Management consulting experience at a highly respected firm strongly preferred
- Expertise: Environmental and/or energy domain expertise required. Experience in change management or product innovation a plus
- Skills: Exceptional problem-solving, communications, and mentoring skills; demonstrated creativity in approaching and solving complex challenges in a client setting
- Intangibles: Candidates must have a strong character and a commitment to delivering excellent client service. Must be a self-starter, with the ability to anticipate and fulfill client and team needs.
