Investors' Circle is a membership-based, national network of angel investors who provide venture capital to companies that address major social and/or environmental issues. IC sponsors educational programs, venture fairs, research, and incubates new social venture funds - all designed to build the field of social venture capital and create new ways to support for-profit social entrepreneurs who are leading the transition to a sustainable economy.  

IC members seek to balance environmental, social, and financial returns on their investments and since 1992 have invested over $112 million into 182 socially responsible private companies and small venture funds. Members invest in a broad variety of sectors and social interest areas, including but not limited to: community development, education & media, environment & energy, food & organics, and health & wellness. 

Investors' Circle (IC) is seeking an organized individual with excellent communication skills to serve as Associate. The Associate handles logistics and operational aspects of membership and sponsorship for this six person non-profit. The Associate works closely and reports directly to the Associate Director.

The Associate's responsibilities include:

o Supporting membership services and sponsorship campaign
o Assist with planning and executing logistics for approximately three events per year, including two 300-person plus events and a members retreat
o Database management and upkeep
o General administrative support, including answering phones, keeping track of and ordering supplies, mail service, and processing checks and credit cards
o Other project-based work as needed (web research, etc.)

Desired qualifications for the position include:

o Outstanding written and verbal communication. A professional phone manner is critical.
o Computer mastery in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficiency in database entry. Experience with FileMaker a plus.
o Event planning experience preferred. Ability to manage the many details and logistics of sophisticated events with a high level of personalized service.
o The capacity to work and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization with a collaborative environment.
o Previous work experience, preferably in a small business and/or nonprofit.
o Commitment to and understanding of sustainable development a plus.
o Undergraduate degree.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include four weeks vacation and health care coverage for individual, domestic partner, and other dependents.
