Description

The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, is  seeking an energetic junior to mid-level mechanical engineer or architect with experience in the design and construction of commercial/industrial buildings.

The Assistant LEED Certification Manager will work with senior staff as part of a team to review and evaluate certification documentation submitted by project teams for consideration under USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, the preeminent system for certifying high performance green buildings in the United States.

Requirements: The candidate should have experience in the design and construction of buildings (siting, envelope, structure) as well as a working knowledge of building energy systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). A thorough understanding of high performance green building design is desired, specifically regarding energy modeling, indoor air quality, and material selection.

Candidates must have at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 2-5 years experience with building design and/or construction. LEED Accredited Professional status is a plus.
