Position Overview:
The Asset Manager is responsible for the financial oversight, budgeting, financial forecasting and operation and maintenance for energy assets. The candidate will be responsible for driving the profitability of solar assets through close collaboration with Con Edison's accounting, regulatory, trading, asset development, technical, and related groups. The Asset Manager will ensure that the output of the asset is in line with forecasts, that the production is properly billed and accounted for, that appropriate hedges are in place, that required maintenance is scheduled and completed as required, and that any contractual obligations related to a given asset are fulfilled.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of assets, driving long term profitability and risk minimization.
- Asset Production: Monitor and ensure accurate reporting of generation to PJM/GTS and NEPOOL/GIS and the PPA billing process.
- Asset Strategy Development: Establish, implement, and actively manage hedge plans for assets.
- Asset Maintenance: Develop, implement and manage long term maintenance strategies for assets in the portfolio; obtain and manage maintenance contracts; monitor asset status and troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise.
- Asset Development Support: Perform ad hoc analysis as required to support Asset Management and Project Development.
- Technical Expertise: Stay informed on accounting rules and valuation techniques relevant to solar assets.
- Asset Protection: Implement and maintain insurance coverage for assets.
- General: Participate in the development of the company's strategy for new business.
Qualifications:
Education:
- 4 year engineering or finance degree
- MBA (finance) or Certified Financial Analyst ("CFA") charterholder preferred
Experience:
- 2-5 years experience in a related renewable energy field, with direct expertise in a financial, energy-related environment preferred.
- Financial modeling with an understanding of GAAP accounting principles and DCF modeling required.
- Budgeting, forecasting, negotiating.
- Prior operations experience with renewable and solar facilities including knowledge of renewable energy credits.
