Description

The Irvine Nature Center is a non-profit educational organization that offers programs of environmental studies and natural science to children and adults of the greater Baltimore area. Its mission is to inspire appreciation and respect for the natural world, to increase awareness of environmental issues, and to encourage individuals to sustain earth's ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily feeding of live animal collection; Clean animal tanks and filters, as needed; Maintain proper operation of all filters, timers; Take inventory of and purchase supplies and materials; Oversee high school volunteers assisting with animal care.

QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or higher education Work experience in animal care a plus Strong work ethic Good communication skills Your own transportation

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?Training in animal care and natural history Experience managing high school volunteers $8.00/hour

TIME COMMITMENTJune - August; Monday - Friday; typically 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Required training will be scheduled for mid-May
