Real Food Farm is an urban farm located on 6 acres in Clifton Park, in Baltimore, MD. Please see the following job opening that we are currently seeking to fill.

Position Overview:

Real Food Farm is currently seeking a full-time Americorps Agricultural Projects Coordinator to begin March 2011. This is an opportunity for an individual interested in developing specialized agricultural projects while engaging with community food security and social change. The Agricultural Projects Coordinator will manage and develop on-farm projects such as compost operations, soil fertility, apiaries, possible livestock, orchard, construction, and stormwater management and rain catchment practices. Specific projects will partially vary depending on experience, needs, budget, and interest.

Responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities include: continuing research, development and expansion of previously mentioned projects, and weekly general production duties on the farm (harvesting, weeding, etc.).

Qualifications:

Requirements include: agricultural experience and a strong interest in urban agriculture; creative problem-solving skills; experience and interest in working with diverse populations; qualities of self-motivation, time management, flexibility and cooperation. Experience with sciences, mathematics, and/or construction is desirable.

Compensation: The position will begin in March 2012 until October 2012. 40 hours per week. Pay will be a modest bi-weekly Americorps stipend and an education award upon completion of the term.
