Position Overview

Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council has an opening for a Monitoring and Research Director.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Lake and Stream Monitoring Programs
  • Coordinate Surveys, Inventories and Research Studies
  • Prepare Watershed Management Plans
  • Manage GIS program
  • Prepare Grant proposals and project development plans
  • Conduct presentations, prepare written communication pieces, work with citizens
  • Supervise volunteers and interns
  • Keep current in water resource management topics

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in aquatic science or related field or bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency with computers and relevant software
  • Experience with project management and grant proposal success
  • Knowledge of Northern Michigan's waters desired

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
