Position Overview
Currently we have an immediate long term need for a Green Infrastructure Inspector to be located on-site at various construction project sites in Washington, DC .* You will be an integral part of a construction management team overseeing the delivery of green infrastructure capital improvements on behalf of *DC Water . This a full-time position with attractive compensation and benefits.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college and 2-3 years or more of full-time satisfactory experience in green infrastructure engineering inspection
OR
- An associate degree in civil engineering technology from an accredited college and 3-4 years or more of full-time satisfactory experience in green infrastructure engineering inspection
Preferred Skills:
The ideal candidate will have prior knowledge of sustainable urban design and Green Infrastructure principles. LEED certification is desirable. Additional skills preferred are as follows:
- Strong technical experience and expertise in: Bio-retention in street planters or curb extensions; permeable pavements in alleys or parking lanes; and subsurface storage
- Familiarity and understanding of the DC Water Green Infrastructure Standards and design codes
- Experience with construction inspection in an urban, densely populated street setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and schematics
- Experience preparing daily inspection reports (CM14 is a plus)
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel as required
- Valid driver’s license
