Position Overview

Responsible for the engineering, design and project management of new and existing commercial and industrial Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems in the New York region.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical engineering design of exciting and challenging facilities such as hospitals, commercial, and governmental facilities. 
  • Develops relationships with an emphasis on client education and serves as a trusted advisor to existing clients with the objective of a long term mutually rewarding relationship.
  • Prepare drawings using computer aided design software.
  • Perform basic calculations and standard computations such as building, heating, and cooling loads.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information trends, recommending actions.
  • Troubleshoot and act upon problem areas/issues in book of business; escalating to the extent necessary with emphasis on client retention and satisfaction.
  • Maintains project scheduling by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; and resolving problems.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting test.
  • Provides consistency in superior client satisfaction by effectively providing direction and communication to support personnel through education, guidance and coaching.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Self-motivated with a persuasive, enthusiastic and client-centric focus.
  • Outstanding negotiation and closing skills.
  • Complete understanding of the CHP application in all industries, focusing on hospitals, large commercial structures, and manufacturing facilities.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information and adapting it to the end user.
  • Superior communication skills for high interaction with a variety of people external and internal to the organization.
  • Strong time management and organizations skills.
  • Decisiveness, good judgment, analytical/math aptitude and problem solving skills to act with authority and take risks in an environment with little direction from others. Proficiency in Excel, Auto-Cad or related application required.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Professionally Licensed Engineer with a Bachelor's (B.S.) Mechanical Engineering degree and at least 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management.
  • Experience with CHP/Renewable Energy.
  • Understanding of alternative energy technologies.
