Position Overview

Loop Capital is currently seeking a (PACE) Property Assessed Clean Energy Program /Project Finance Unit Summer Intern.

Seasonal Position: June 2019 – August 2019

PACE financing programs allow commercial property owners to finance energy efficiency, renewable energy and water conservation improvements that are repaid over time through voluntary property tax payments. Clients, prospects and other stakeholders include commercial property owners, real estate developers, real estate brokers, state and local governments and energy efficiency companies. In addition, the Unit provides financing services for energy and water conservation projects and economic development projects such as TIFs and Special Service Areas.

The intern will participate in aspects of the evaluation, negotiation and successful delivery of a low-cost diversified capital structure for PACE and Project Finance financing plans. A successful candidate must be articulate, detail oriented, possess strong organizational and project management skills, a positive customer service demeanor and financial modeling familiarity. In addition, the candidate must be diligent, resourceful, meticulous, analytical and a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare internal and external presentations
  • Assist in gathering required data from potential borrowers
  • Synthesize data in support of marketing strategies and efforts
  • Prepare market research
  • Stay informed of current industry and market trends
  • Prepare presentation materials for existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare presentation materials to facilitate communication with local governments regarding the establishment of PACE programs

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment at an undergraduate or graduate school majoring in Business, Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum, 2-3 years’ work experience
  • Interest in real estate finance is preferred
  • Excel experience, analytical analysis and financial modeling skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to a high-quality work product
  • Ability to think independently and present viewpoints in a thoughtful and professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to perform tasks and achieve results independently and as part of a team, consistently meeting deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments effectively in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to present information in both oral and written form in a clear and concise manner
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
