Position Overview

The Fishkill NY office has an immediate opening for an Environmental Scientist with 3 to 6 years of experience. The successful candidate will work with a dynamic team of environmental professionals to develop and implement innovative technical solutions for the projects.  

Responsibilities 

  • Authoring technical reports, performing calculations, and conduct analyses.
  • Federal, state, and local permit preparation.
  • Planning and performing field investigations (natural resource surveys, sampling, and wetland delineations, in accordance with federal and state protocols).
  • Communicating with staff.
  • Ensuring quality execution.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client-specific requirements. 

 Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations.
  • Experience with natural resource surveys (habitat assessment, wetland delineations, etc.).
  • Experience with preparing reports, including but not limited to: Federal and State Permit Applications, etc., environmental impact statements, etc.).
  • Strong written and data evaluation skills.

 Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Biological, Environmental Science, Environmental Policy or related discipline; Masters in a relevant Biological field of study is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently, as well as, in a team environment and a positive professional attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effort and effectively be engaged on multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines.
  • Ability to travel; valid driver’s license.
  • Experience with a Trimble GPS and ArcGIS is a plus.
