We are seeking a market data energy analyst for Boulder, CO. We’d like someone who brings industry expertise, a fresh perspective and a desire to make a big impact. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data science and statistical modeling with an interest in energy and being part of the green tech revolution.

As the Market Data Energy Analyst, you will be responsible for advancing software solutions and analytics to support the clean-tech power revolution. Your strong analytical skills and ability to develop innovative problem solving solutions will support mission critical decision analytics for renewable and traditional power providers around the globe. Additional responsibilities will include developing feature enhancements to model the financial and physical uncertainties of power generation, load, energy markets and commodities. We're looking for talented individuals with a serious commitment to empirical modeling, large data analytics, and software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build robust pipelines for harvesting and processing of energy market data.
• Design data structures and visualization of results to provide users actionable intelligence and situational awareness of supporting data.
• Build and maintain structural time series forecasting models.
• Optimize and enhance computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.

Qualifications

Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficiency with analytic software programming (Python or other languages).
• Familiarity with relational databases (MS SQL or Oracle).
• Understanding of the threading limitations of Python, and multi-process architecture.
• Strong unit test and debugging skills.
• Background in data science, data harvesting, econometrics, statistics, time series forecasting.

Education & Experience:

• BS required in Computer Research Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Math, or related field; MS preferred.
• Proven track record in software engineering; Python knowledge strongly preferred.
• Strong interest in energy systems preferred.
