Position Overview

Trinity Washington University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach the following course in Fall 2018:

ENVS 102/Lecture/ARC1 – Science of the Environment | Credits 4.000

Responsibilities

  • Introduces non-science majors to evolution, earth science, and plate tectonics with an emphasis on the mid-Atlantic region.
  • Labs include use of the scientific method, development of observational skills, computer-assisted learning, and several field trips.
  • There is an additional laboratory fee for this course. Formerly ENV 101 Discovering Planet Earth.

Qualifications

  • Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview.
  • Knowledge of best teaching practices is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices, with strong backgrounds in higher education pedagogy and classroom instruction.
