Description

~ The Potomac Valley Audubon Society (PVAS) was organized in 1982. We are a chapter of the National Audubon Society and draw our members from Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Maryland. ~

PVAS offers a wide variety of programs for children, adults, and families. Our goal is to get people of all ages outside to explore and learn about the natural world. To help accomplish this goal, PVAS manages four nature preserves featuring a variety of habitats in the Eastern Panhandle of WV to hike and explore. We also work closely with a variety of partners to conserve natural areas for habitat protection and for people’s enjoyment.

Position Overview

PVAS sometimes seeks Watershed Education Program Interns watershed interns to teach during the school year on a very part-time basis. This position involves teaching occasional fourth grade classes at various schools in Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan Counties. Positions are paid and have flexible hours (based on the requirements of each school). We provide the step-by-step lesson plans, training, and all the supplies. This is a great way for college students to gain teaching experience or for retired teachers to teach without the other responsibilities of the classroom, but we'd like to hear from anyone with an interest.
