Locally owned and operated, Positive Energy Solar was founded in 1997 by Allan Sindelar. In 2004 Randy Sadewic, and Mark Drummond, NABCEP certified installers with a shared love for the veggie car and a passion for solar and renewable energy joined as co-owners. Positive Energy Solar started out of the Santa Fe Business incubator and was one of the first successful graduates of the program.

Today, Positive Energy Solar employs over 80 people, with offices in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Los Alamos, and Las Cruces, and has completed over 2,500 solar installations in New Mexico.

Position Overview

Are you interested in work that supports a sustainable future? Positive Energy is a leading solar installation company here in New Mexico, and we are seeking people to join our great team!

Solar PV Installers work under the guidance of the assigned Lead Installer and/or Field Manager. The Installer will work on a team installing solar photovoltaic systems, work with warehouse personnel to ensure adequate inventory, pre-assemble job components, perform electrical wiring (AC and DC), and will always follow safe work practices.

Type: Temporary Full-Time, with work expected to last for approximately 30 days from start of employment (at-will).

Location & Travel: This position will be based in the Albuquerque area, with required regular travel to job sites in other areas.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Experience with the safe use of hand-held and power tools
  • Previous experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry
  • Proven ability with various computer applications, e.g. Gmail, databases, etc.
  • Experience working effectively as a team member
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to legally and safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of quality and integrity

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience with PV installations; NABCEP certification a plus
  • Understanding and experience with AC and DC electrical wiring; Journeyman Electrician license is a big plus!
  • Associates Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, snow, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Ability to work in squatting, standing, twisted, and stretched positions
  • Lifting, carrying, and walking with up to 60 pounds of tools and or equipment
  • Climbing up and down ladders
  • Walking on uneven ground

Other:

  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the position as assessed by a qualified medical professional
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle records check
  • Must have reliable transportation to job sites
