Position Overview

As a large-scale solar farm developer, Norbut Solar Farms’ mission is to deliver clean, renewable energy to homes, businesses, hotels, universities, hospitals, and organizations throughout the region. This position is key to our team’s success and we hope you are “energized” about contributing to our mission!

Responsibilities

  • Help Project Developer assess viability of parcels for solar arrays
  • Prepare system evaluations, sizing and production projections, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Create reports, presentations and other documentation needed for grant proposals and community meetings with stakeholder cities, towns, school districts, and neighbors
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and tax incentive guidelines
  • Obtain all necessary approvals, permits, inspections, and authorizations for construction
  • Lead project development team, sub-contractors, legal and engineering consultants, utilities, and any other development partners through the complex design and construction process
  • Supervise safety training and inspect work sites to ensure OSHA compliance
  • Oversee major product deliveries to site as the production schedule intends
  • Monitor project performance and identify areas in need of improved training or documentation
  • Coordinate plans for equipment mobilization, haul road logistics, erosion control, purchasing and staffing
  • Research emerging energy policies, trends, products, software, systems, codes, and construction methods

Qualifications

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Positive, solution-based leader and problem solver
  • Comfortable presenting to clients, investors and stakeholders
  • Strong math, communication, and complex plan-reading skills
  • Organized, punctual and self-directed with high attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and meet deadlines on several projects and applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to PC and mobile team workflow tools
  • Understand contract language, plans, specifications, codes, and construction methods
  • Knowledge of land use, zoning, planning, utility interconnection, and approvals required

Preferred Candidates:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Sustainability or related discipline
  • Experience in construction or photovoltaic project development with large-scale systems
  • Strong interest in the environment and renewable energy technology
  • Clean, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week
  • Three (3) professional/educational references

Physical Environment:

  • Job Site: Required to travel to multiple regional sites and stand or walk through varying terrain
  • Offsite: Meetings and meals may be scheduled outside of business hours so flexibility to attend is needed
  • Office: Required to sit or stand and use computer and phone for long periods of time
