The firm’s headquarters is located in a historic barn and farmhouse in Pike Creek Valley outside of Wilmington, Delaware. We have regional offices in Georgetown and Dover, Delaware, Center City Philadelphia and Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Bel Air, Maryland.

Position Overview

Duffield is looking to hire an Environmental Engineer or Geologist – entry level to 3 years’ experience. Minimum of 80 hours of vacation plus 40 hours of sick time.

Responsibilities

  • Field sampling through soil borings, test pits, and wells.
  • Site reconnaissance for hazardous substances.
  • Statistical evaluation of numeric data.
  • Asbestos surveys.
  • Oversight of remedial action.
  • Report writing.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more. 

Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in geology, environmental or civil engineering.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in this field.
  • Candidate should have the potential to acquire licensure as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist. 
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for engineering and working in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
