Conergy To Build 32MW of Solar Power in Greece

Conergy Group (CGY.DE) announced a framework agreement to construct 20 solar power plants in Greece with a combined capacity of 32 megawatts (MW). The agreement is the largest to date in the country’s fledgling solar energy history.

Approval of the 20 projects–ranging in size from 1 to 4 MW–will soon be finalized, Conergy said. Many of the production licenses are already on hand for the
planned solar parks and the last permits are expected shortly.

Conergy expects to begin construction in 2Q11. All of the power plants are scheduled for completion within 18 months from the start of construction.

Dieter Schmitt, head of Conergy Greece, said, "I am particularly pleased that we will be equipping the power plants almost exclusively with our own Conergy system technology, i.e. with Conergy PowerPlus modules, Conergy IPG inverters, and Conergy mounting systems from our own production."

Conergy CEO Dieter Ammer said "Our expansion to international solar markets of the future has proved successful: already today we achieve nearly 50% of our overall sales outside Germany, we are firmly rooted in all core solar markets worldwide, and we are even the market leader in some of them."

Not only will it have an effect on our planet, it will ultimately save you money. My only suggestion would be to talk with an architect that specializes in green design, they could help you utilize the land, the sun, wind whatever resourses you have available in your area.Good Luck and thank you for thinking of the future of our planet.
