Project Frog Raises $8M for Modular Green Buildings

San Francisco-based Project FROG, a start-up that makes green modular buildings, announced today that it has closed an $8 million Series B financing led by RockPort Capital Partners. The financing will enable the company to accelerate the product development and sales of its building products and systems.

Project FROG has developed smart building products and systems that are suited to a number of applications, including education, retail and commercial. Project FROG’s systems combine to produce green buildings that are more efficiently manufactured, installed and operated than conventional structures. Their products have been engineered to incorporate abundant natural light, high indoor air quality, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, and no volatile organic compounds (VOC) interiors–all within an attractive building package, the company says.

Project FROG’s building systems are designed to include living roofs and solar panels, and can be certified LEED Silver, Gold or Platinum.

Project FROG’s focus will be on the $400 billion U.S. commercial construction industry.

Chuck McDermott, a General Partner at RockPort, who now joins Project FROG’s Board of Directors, said, "This is a truly pioneering company. Project FROG is developing dynamic concepts from a product design and manufacturing platform and applying those innovations to the building industry."
