Position Overview

An established and growing environmental consulting firm in southern California is searching for a Marine Ecologist to join our team and participate in multiple projects.

The company has been established for decades, and has recently seen several years of growth. The successful candidate will establish and maintain client relationships, and must have the social and communication skills to effectively communicate across different personality types. Scientific diving experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Professional demeanor, but casual office near John Wayne Airport.

Responsibilities

Marine Ecologist position will require:

  • Establishing and tracking project schedule, project budget and expenses, invoice review and approval, and the oversight of project implementation through completion.
  • Statistical data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing are also required.
  • Primary subject areas include: marine ecology, sediment quality, water quality, and aquatic biological resources (from invertebrates to mammals).
  • Secondary subject areas include: hydrographic surveying, freshwater resources, and environmental assessments (e.g., CEQA/NEPA projects).

Compensation: Commensurate with the level of responsibilities described. The company offers a competitive benefits package, including medical insurance, FSA, and 401(k) plan.
