Position Overview

Clearway Energy Group is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join Reporting & Performance Monitoring (RPM) Center. The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in assisting the Operations Manager and Standards Manager in daily RPM Center activities. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all day to RPM Center activities acting as a support and leadership role to the on-shift Operations Specialist. The Operations Coordinator will support the development of tools and processes for RPM Center activities and coordinate with other departments such as but not limited to performance engineering and PI Support team. This position will be located in our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Responsibilities

  • Support and help guide the RPM Center operations albeit the real-time operator and or support shift operator to become Best in Class.
  • Perform periodic operator log reviews for accuracy and operator compliance.
  • Nuisance Alarms.
  • Unclassified MTD.
  • General compliance log overview.
  • Specifically address event classifications such as LE-FO, LE-OMC, LE-Maint etc. * Assist in coordination of RPM Center tool development, testing, verification, implementation and assist other support teams in troubleshooting and using such tools. These tools will include but are not limited to: PI Systems and OEM SCADA.
  • Manage the RCA and continuous improvement process in regards to real-time operations.
  • Support commissioning of new projects and coordinate all power plants control functions from a remote operations perspective. This will include communications and coordination with appropriate external entities.
  • Assist in coordination of regulatory and contractual compliance testing for all assets under the NRG Renewables portfolio.
  • Assist site operations personnel in use and development of real-time tools, specifically scheduling and reporting through TOBIAS.
  • Provide direction and supervision to real-time operators in compliance events.
  • Seek to continuously improve system processes related to real-time operations duties.
  • Support and assist in the onboarding process of new operations personnel.
  • Assist in continuous review of all RPM Center vital procedures and processes.
  • Assist in proactively monitoring real-time activity, performance and operational status of all wind and solar assets. Help real-time operator in understanding and identifying any and all abnormal operating and alarm conditions that arise during the shift and appropriately troubleshoot in a timely fashion.
  • Assist Real-Time Operator in understanding and adhering to contractual obligations (PPA’s, LGIA’s and O&M agreements).
  • Coordinate with Standards Manager in development and implementation of processes and procedures to assure compliance with internal controls and quality control for customers and field personnel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in power plant operations.
  • 4-year degree, or relevant experience may be considered.
  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate competent technical knowledge of plant and system processes and experience in operating electrical and SCADA systems.
  • Ability to use anilitical software to analyze equipment performance and identify performance issues.
  • Able to intrepret NERC, WECC and CAISO regulations.
  • Possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment.
  • Must have made financial decisions based off of real time power plant equipment analysis and contract related costweighing risk versus reward.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to work in difficult customer situations.
  • Project Management experience preferred.
