Position Overview

Impact our next generation offshore wind turbine design, through definition and ownership of its overall requirements, as well as taking or facilitating key design choices, considering the future product evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Create with the help of subsystem and block leaders the right set of product requirement documents that will make the product compliant with all external and internal requirements (e.g. EHS, quality, reliability, cost, supply chain, manufacturing, transport & installation, O&M, etc.), taking into consideration required options and customizations
  • Track and report compliance with the product requirements
  • Lead and document trade-off studies to find the optimum solutions, technologies and designs. Take wind turbine systems design decisions
  • Manage interfaces between subsystems and blocks and ensure their proper documentation
  • Create and maintain a technology roadmap, responding to the platform evolution defined by Product Line (e.g. power upgrades)

Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in engineering, preferably mechanical, or physics or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Very strong experience in wind turbine design, broad knowledge of wind turbine technologies
  • Creativity and innovation, seeking for efficient design solutions to meet customer needs
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills, capability to drive decision taking involving a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, fluently in English
  • EU Work Permit

If contracted in Spain:

  • Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain
  • They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of the offshore wind energy market
  • Wide vision of the complete offshore wind turbine value chain
