Position Overview

SLR International Corporation is seeking a Principal Level Consultant to join our growing environmental and advisory solutions team in our busy Irvine office. The qualified candidate will have experience in one of the following areas of expertise: air quality & permitting, environmental due diligence, advisory services, site remediation and regulatory closure, or compliance and environmental management systems.  Key functions in this role include developing business, managing deliverables to clients and management team, and oversight of projects.

As a Principal level employee, candidates should be prepared to coordinate staff assignments, mentor and develop junior staff, and participate in company growth in a hands-on leadership capacity. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding client networking and relationship building skills, backed by a proven reputation for providing highest quality service to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with clients that result in sustained growth. Achieve business financial targets.
  • Manage overall project/program budgets and scheduled, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of project management and effective delegation and oversight of group or program tasks and goals.
  • Provide final senior review of technical or promotional communications prepared by others, and demonstrate capabilities and experience with regulators including negotiations related to client work scopes.
  • Promote cross-selling. Effectively mentor and develop senior staff. 

Qualifications

Technical Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years professional experience in one of the areas of expertise listed above.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing consulting assignments.
  • Capable of managing a variety of project deliverables with varying timelines.
  • Proven project management experience from proposal stage to completion to include establishing scopes and project budgets, client communications, managing deliverables, and coordinating project teams.
  • Proven experience managing a team of diverse professionals.
  • Skill in budgeting and goal-setting for a group.
  • Previous experience with a small to midsize consultancy is appreciated.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field required.
  • In-depth understanding of consulting.
  • Strong client network is essential to success.
  • Ability to travel by airplane and car including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license required.
