We have gone from essentially zero to a nationwide top-10 solar originator in less than a year. Employee growth numbers in the past year at Blue Raven have gone from 3 employees to over 500 employees and independent contractors as of February 2016. Expected growth to 1,000+ employees and independent contractors nationwide by November 2016.
Position Overview
As a Blue Raven Field Operations Technician you will be our primary point of contact on the ground and integrally involved with the entire process of helping customers go solar. Technicians must be responsible and able to manage their own schedule to ensure that all necessary tasks are followed through on, with minimal outside management.
This position will require the individual to have reliable transportation and the ability to communicate with our corporate office effectively and efficiently. This position is paid on commission per job completed and is considered a 1099 contractor employee.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage your schedule to complete several time sensitive tasks on a daily basis.
- Conduct solar site assessment for prospective customers using a smart phone and provided surveying equipment.
- Surveys must be completed and information uploaded in a timely manner.
- Install energy efficiency kit which includes a smart thermostat and LED light bulbs.
- Work with local municipalities to submit and retrieve documents necessary for successfully completing the permitting process prior to system installation.
- Turn on solar system once installation is complete and collect customer feedback.
- Fix common inverter problems that may occur upon energization.
- Coordinate remotely with our permitting project coordinator and field operations manager on a daily basis.
Qualifications
A strong candidate will be able to show a track record of:

- Trustworthy and dependable.
- Effectively managing time between several responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of home construction preferred but not required.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
Compensation: Extremely competitive rate based upon quality of work and quantity of jobs completed.
