Description

We have corporate offices in Jay, OK and Apex, NC. We specialize in the application of information technology (IT) tools to enable high performance and transparency within our client's environmental, planning, and energy related programs.
Position Overview
The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary environmental compliance team providing audit services to Whitetail federal clients across the US.
Program operations and activities to audit include property management and procurement, water/wastewater treatment, fleet/vehicle operations and maintenance, irrigation/power projects, facility/grounds maintenance, schools and dormitories, and other program operations (forestry, natural resources, realty, minerals management, transportation, water resources, and information technology).
The primary responsibilities of the position are to ensure that these activities are operated and maintained in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations (Federal, State, Tribal, and Local laws and regulations; Executive Orders).
Responsibilities
- Perform Environmental Management Program assessments at various locations throughout the USA, including Alaska.
- Conduct Environmental Management System (EMS) audits as part of the assessments.
- Identify items of noncompliance and nonconformance.
- Develop audit reports including name and address of audited organization, description of findings, supporting information, and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions, and auditor certification that audit was consistent with prescribed audit protocols.
- Conduct follow-up assessments, if necessary, to check implementation of effective corrective action and provide training.
- Conduct inbriefs and outbriefs during each audit.
- Provide general environmental support activities to the audited organizations.
- Be familiar with or be able to research all applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations at each audited organization.
- Provide all technical assistance necessary to fully support the Environmental and Cultural Resources Management programs and associated projects, including research, analysis, development, coordination, and management.
- Possess a working knowledge of building maintenance and systems, vehicle maintenance practices, and drinking water systems as related to environmental compliance.
- Candidates are expected to travel in support of these requirements on average 50-75% of the time.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering or related degree (M.S. is preferred).
- Certified Environmental Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent certification.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, and must be willing to learn custom auditing software systems.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to pass a Federal background investigation and obtain security clearance to work on-site at Federal facilities.
