Position Overview
The Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for providing regional support to Olam SVI's sustainability initiatives including but not limited to: employee engagement, grower relations, manufacturing operations, customer relations, stakeholder engagement, external sustainability reporting, etc. This role would also entail coordination and collaboration with the global Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) committee to implement and execute local sustainability initiatives that work towards achieving Olam's global sustainability aspirations.
The candidate would directly support the Sustainability Manager whilst also indirectly supporting the Manufacturing team, Agricultural Operations, and Marketing and Communications.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and support collaborative processes and practices with various departments including CR&S, Manufacturing, Marketing, etc. to achieve business results
- Supports department processes and practices to ensure that sustainability initiatives within Manufacturing are aligned with company business goals and objectives
- Facilitate and support sustainability initiatives that drive employee awareness and engagement around sustainability
- Provide regional support to Sustainability Manager and sites on various initiatives including but not limited to customer engagement, external reporting, stakeholder relations, and manufacturing data management
- Identify risks and opportunities within the various manufacturing departments using appropriate performance metrics and resources
- Identify risks and opportunities with local and regional policies related to agricultural sustainability, food processing, labor, water, climate change, food waste, etc.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Cross sector experience in Agriculture, Food Processing, NGO's, Customer Relations, Employee Relations, etc.
- Advanced communication and public affairs acumen
- Leading and facilitating cross -functional groups
- Experience managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, strong sense of urgency and ownership
- Excellent ability to work well in a team oriented environment
- Proven ability to influence at scale
- Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
