Position Overview  

A new and exciting opportunity has to join the IFF Global Sustainability team. You will be responsible for advancing and executing the strategy for the Responsible Sourcing pillar of the company's overall sustainability strategy.

This position will report to the Director of Global Sustainability and work closely with the Global Procurement department to develop and implement tools to assess and address risk around responsible sourcing for the supply base.

Role Responsibility 

  • Execute, integrate and advance the strategy of Responsible Sourcing aligned with the overall Sustainability strategy realizing that supplier accountability "risk" and "opportunities" is executed through processes managed by the Global Procurement (GP) function.
  • Initiate and manage a portfolio of Responsible Sourcing projects to drive progress in line with company and customer sustainability goals through engagement, development and coordination of partnerships, trainings, and processes and tools. A key focus is on natural ingredients and community relationships, enhancing the livelihoods of the associated farmers and improving environmental conditions within the supply chain.
  • Understand, communicate, leverage and drive platforms such as SEDEX and Eco Vadis to address risk. Be able to manage and resolve questions with suppliers, category managers, operations, Research & Development and other functional team members.
  • Accountable point contact for and drive the process of responsible sourcing auditing. Engage and influence related groups (Quality, Operations, etc) to integrate these processes into the company's overall supplier risk assessment. Ability to work with suppliers on audits and the correction of non-conformances. E expert within IFF that can answer questions and resolve problems around audits, self-assessment questionnaires.
  • Act as the resource to the business on current events, attend related meetings, identify issues and trends in areas related to responsible sourcing. Representative of the company at industry forums. Develop KPI's and regularly report on progress of the function to the Head of Sustainability and VP of Global Procurement. 
  • Coordinate the timely response of customer inquiries with respect to supplier and ingredient sustainability. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field including supply chain, sustainability or responsible sourcing/procurement.
  • 5 + years of experience in a Responsible Sourcing role within a multi-national chemical/manufacturing or CPG organization. 

Required Experience: 

  • 5 + year of experience in a similar industry with knowledge of B2B and B2C relationships.
  • 5 + year of specific experience managing SEDEX and Eco Vadis platforms for a multi-national organization.

Preferred Education: 

  • Master's degree in Sustainability or Responsible Sourcing.
